.The Great Patriotic War Museum

Thirty million Soviet citizens were killed during World War II of which about 7.5 million were Ukrainians. This museum tells their amazing, heroic and brutal story. It is amazing that the world knows very little about this history though visiting this museum will certainly open one's eyes. The museum complex is actually made up of three different parts: 1) the main exhibit, which deals with the Great Patriotic War (this is how the Soviet Union's war against the Nazis is known). The museum gives the history of the Ukrainian struggle against the Nazis and shows how 7.5 million Ukrainians perished in the war through fighting the German invaders as well as the unspeakable crimes committed by the Nazis and their allies such as mass forced starvation, hangings, shootings, concentration camps, being burned alive en mass etc. This truly is one of the best World War II museums in the world and is something you should now miss.
